SOWK 5530 - PSYCHOPATHOLOGY, PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND CULTURAL NEUROSCIENCE |
This course examines the origin, development, treatment, and classification of the most prevalent forms of maladaptive or psychopathological behavior. Current empirical findings and conceptual models, regarding the assessment of psychosocial functioning, will be studied. Intentional focus will be given to the context within which psychiatric diagnosis is done, and the latest translational research findings related to behavioral and cultural neuroscience, so that advanced social work professionals can help client systems effectively manage stress and life.
