You can use any combination of selection options to narrow your search for courses. You must choose at least one subject. Multiple subjects can be selected by dragging the mouse over two or more courses, or holding the Ctrl key while clicking on desired subjects. When selecting by course number range, you must enter a low and a high number. When your selection is complete, choose Get Courses to perform the search. |

Prerequisite: Not open to freshmen. A previous course in Philosophy and/or Music recommended. Crosslisted with MUSC 3120. Arts (A) course.
This course joins the queen of the arts (music) with the queen of the sciences (philosophy) in an exploration of foundational concepts in a philosophical investigation of music. We will focus on Classical/Romantic music (1750-1900) and Modern and New music (1900-present). We will read, listen, and view examples of how music and philosophy reveal human and cosmic temporality.
